Responsible for the safe, efficient and quality-conscious unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities to or from storage piles, railcars, and trucks. Assure the work being performed consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the supervisor, as well as published policies and procedures of Kinder Morgan. Operator will be required to conduct pre-use inspections, and possible to be asked to complete simple mainteance functions.High school/GED; or up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Train to Operator D-9 Dozer and other heavy Equipment, i.e.: Front-end loader, Bobcat, Man-lift, and Track-hoe In order to appropriately perform the essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required. Able to carry out supervisors instructions. Self-motivated. Safety in performance of duties common to the position. Ability to work with others. Must possess and maintain a valid driver vehicle license Must pass and complete any required Kinder Morgan specific safety training as may be required by Customers) and as required at all Kinder Morgan work locations. Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC). Must be willing and able to work as part of a team. Treat people with respect, keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, works with integrity and ethically, upholds organizational values. Prioritize and plans work activities using time efficiently, plans for additional resources, organizes schedules of other people and their tasks, develops realistic action plans. Required to stand, walk and climb for extended periods of time. Communicate with supervision and co-workers via radio While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
