Job Purpose
As a Class C Welder on cell 5, you will play a crucial role on our welding line. This position is ideal for someone who has recently completed tech school or has minimal experience in welding.
This position requires someone that has a willingness to learn the art of welding and has the motivation to grow within the department. To move to the next level, progression will be at the manager's discretion, in addition to passing the skills test for the next level. Team Members must remain in the current class for a minimum of 90 days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform stud welding
- Tack welding for doors, sills, handles, and hinges
- Grinding tasks as needed
- Versatility in Position: Willingness to work and train in various welding positions on Cell 5.
- Train on Blueprint and Part List Reading: to acquire the skill to read and comprehend blueprints and part lists to ensure accurate welding and assembly.
- Train on Measurement Skills: To become proficient in reading a tape measure for precise measurements; preferred skill.
- Safe Tool Usage: Utilize shop tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks without compromising safety.
- Physical Strength: Possess the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs and stand the entire shift.
- PPE Compliance: Knowledge and consistent use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for the job.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
- Trade School or less than a year of experience
