Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate proven experience successfully and efficiently designing large sized performance systems for Audio, Video, and Lighting systems (in excess of $750k).
Responsibilities
Site Surveys & Project Assessment - Meet with clients to assess technology needs, asking informative questions, and providing insight and recommendations as appropriate to ensure customer desired outcome is understood.
System Design - Carry project through all steps of the design process, from start to finish to include the development of Scope of Work and Bill of Materials. Accountability for accurately identifying pricing, availability and lead times, and interoperability of possible equipment options when building system.
Drawings - Responsible for the delivery of of design documentation and support contract deliverable including CAD-based schematic and trade coordination drawings, High and Low Level Design diagrams, schematics, equipment and room elevations, network utilization, labeling, and wire pull documentation for on-site job builds.
Proposal or Quotation and Sale Execution - Assist with the preparation of client proposals or sales quotations. Prepare purchase orders and process sales orders in collaboration with Sales and Sales Operations teams. Approve or reject DE1 and DE2 drawings for client export, as well as peer review of DE1/2 designs.
Closing Support - Provide as-built drawings, custom manuals, product documentation and literature.
Commissioning - Responsible for the successful commissioning of all assigned design work.
Qualifications & Benefits
Qualifications:
5+ years of verifiable experience successfully designing/engineering large scale AV projects, preferably in broadcast, churches, universities, as well as corporate environments designing meeting rooms
Advanced understanding of audio, video, lighting and system control, best practices and fundamentals, low-voltage wiring, as well as basic understanding of programming languages related to Extron, Crestron, Krammer, etc
Demonstrated competency with network setup, troubleshooting, and configuration as well as dual-FFT measurement systems
Proven experience with object-oriented coding systems and able to write and configure systems based on published APIs
Certified Technology Specialist Design (CTS-D)
Proficiency in design/CAD software; specifically interfacing with architectural AutoCAD files
Audio DSP programming for major platforms (QSYS, Biamp, BSS, Symetrix, etc.)
Intermediate level of understanding of IT and computer networking fundamentals, infrastructure and installation practices
Must be proficient with O365 applications including Microsoft Work and Excel
Proficiency with reading, interpreting, reviewing, and writing contract documentation and infrastructure specifications (such as, conduit requirements and BTU heat loads calculations)
Superior time management and organizational strategies to ensure ability to execute against time deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as maintain independence
Preferred Qualifications:
Verkada access control systems is a huge plus
Have experience with or understanding of communications infrastructure, telecommunications, Cisco and/or Microsoft Teams
Have experience with D-Tools, Vectorworks, REVIT, and multimedia programming for major platforms (Creston, AMX, Extron, etc.) strong preferred
Are innately curious with a natural desire to learn new things and technologies
Take a strong interest in developing junior engineering staff.
Exhibit humility and accountability when appropriate: able to admit fault, to value and include input from other staff and stakeholders, and to position him/herself as helpful internally and externally.
