Wharf Laborer

The Winter Harbor Cooperative is looking for a full-time hardworking wharf laborer. Daily duties include (but are not limited to) loading and unloading boats and trucks, operating machinery (including a forklift), and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the work area. Communication is essential to the job, as communicating with other dock workers, supervisors, and sometimes truck drivers to coordinate loading and unloading activities is necessary. Time management is essential, as is a strong work ethic and reliability. Logging information, including quantities and prices, is also required throughout the day. Experience is preferred but not required. The Winter Harbor Lobster Co-Op is a small group of independent Maine fishermen who want to ensure individuals get the freshest lobsters. We sell to many wholesale vendors and directly to the public. We built a specialized and state-of-the-art holding facility to ensure that our lobsters exceed consumer expectations. Keeping lobsters cold and in the right environment is key to keeping them fresh and ensuring high-quality taste.
