Position Summary: The OSM Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of offsite manufacturing (OSM) scopes, working directly with the OSM Project Leads. This position is highly involved in the daily details of the job, balancing desk-based coordination and technical tasks with frequent field walks. The OSM Project Engineer works closely with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and design teams to facilitate workflow, maintain documentation, and ensure that technical and schedule requirements are met.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support daily coordination between subcontractors, vendors, and the OSM field team to maintain schedule compliance.
- Monitor subcontractor progress in the field, escalating issues to the OSM CM or Superintendent as needed.
- Review and process RFIs, submittals, and change documents; track and distribute to appropriate parties.
- Interpret 3D and 2D design documents, specifications, and technical manuals for accurate field install and implementation.
- Track and update project documentation to reflect current conditions, scope changes, and approvals.
- Assist with QA/QC efforts by coordinating inspections and ensuring work meets project standards.
- Support procurement efforts, including OSM vendor coordination and delivery tracking.
- Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed minutes, and maintain action item logs.
- Maintain clear and timely communication between field and office teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the OSM CM and Superintendent.
Qualifications:
Experience and Education
- Minimum 3 years of construction experience, with at least 1 year in OSM, modular construction, or related prefabrication environments preferred.
- Industrial or high-tech project experience preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required (may be obtained after hire).
- High school diploma or GED required, bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and familiarity with network-based systems.
- Experience with project management tools (Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD (optional), Revit (optional), and Navisworks (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret 3D and 2D construction documents and specifications.
- Understanding of CSI specification system for construction.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Combination of desk work and field activity throughout the day.
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; work in confined spaces.
- Frequent use of hands, arms, and legs for computer work and field tasks.
- Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; must be able to operate a vehicle with a valid drivers license.
- Tolerance for high-noise environments (hearing protection provided).
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs to a height of 3 feet and transport it 50100 feet.
- Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to inspect work.
- Must exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skills to determine the most effective course of action.
