Airbus UpNext Spain has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to contribute to the evaluation of an innovative more electric architecture with the aim to provide aircraft non propulsive energy (NPE).
The Test Bench Electrical Design Engineer position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in Spain (Getafe).
This job comes with a limited contract linked to the deliverable of the demonstrator - end of December 2027.
Starting date - ASAP.
Mission
The demonstrator will integrate complex systems including electrical energy storage, electrical power generation, distribution and conversion, fuel storage and distribution, pneumatic systems, thermal management systems and control and monitoring systems within a ground test facility. Those systems will include novel technologies for aviation, and will be integrated in a new system architecture with new operational constraints.
The role of the Electrical Design Lead Engineer will be to lead the development (design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and maintenance) of the electrical equipment (low and high voltage wiring, installation racks, interface panels, etc) required to integrate the systems within the test facility.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Design test bench electrical architecture, layout and physical integration (equipment allocation, wiring routing, interfaces, etc)
Define the strategy to integrate and commission the electrical equipment.
Define the wiring diagrams and all necessary design and installation data to specify the electrical equipment..
Scout key electrical installation equipment supplier(s) and steer the corresponding activities: m procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and in-service support.
Ensure implementation of the electrical safety measures, incl. required PPEs and tools.
Support to test activities, test bench maintenance and configuration management.
The responsibilities and the technical scope of the job might evolve according to the agile working environment of the project, so being flexible is important.

You are able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
At least 10 years' experience in electrical design and installation activities.
Background in Aircraft interpretation of functional diagrams.
Expert in designing electrical wiring diagrams.
Proven experience in commissioning and testing of electrical installation, i.e, isolation tests, ground measurements, pin to pin test, etc.
Proven hands-on and solution oriented attitude.
Experience in High Voltage batteries mechanical installation know how .
Expert in using electrical testing tools.
Very good knowledge in electrical safety measurements and associated PPEs.
Team-Player mindset.
Ability to work under pressure.
Values of transparency, humility, empathy.
Willingness to have fun.
