Project Engineer

BPGSConstruction, LLC ("BPGS") is a full service construction managementsubsidiary of BPG. The company provides a broad range of integratedpre-construction and construction management services for BPG as well as selectthird parties. BPGS has completed or is currently involved with over $300million in capital improvements related projects that include hotels, offices,residential, retail and parking.
Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Purpose

Project engineers are teamed up withsuperintendents and/or project managers to obtain field and project managementoperations experience in all phases of construction. This position is a pathway towards a careeras either a construction project manager or construction superintendent.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in the buy-out strategy and execution for assigned bid packages. Responsibilities would include preparing scopes of work, facilitating the bid process, evaluating submitted bids, conducting scope review meetings with subcontractors and final selection of successful subcontractors.
• Assist in the evaluation of design documents for completeness, clarity, and constructability.
• Manage the RFI process for assigned Bid Packages.
• Manage the submittal process for assigned Bid Packages with a focus on conformance with the design and the coordination with other trades.
• Manage costs associated with assigned Bid Packages with a focus on change negotiations and cost projections.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in identifying and resolving conflicts on a daily basis.
• Mentor Project Coordinators assigned to the project team.
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be detailoriented and be accurate in composing and proofing materials.

• Must be able tointeract and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Education

• Bachelor’sdegree in construction management, architectural engineering, civilengineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering and/or aequivalent combination of experience and continuing education.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in construction management, civilengineering, architectural engineering, or a related field required.

Physical Requirements

• Requiresstanding, walking, and sitting.
• Requiresfrequent operation of equipment.
• Frequentstretching and / or bending to access equipment, objects, etc.
• Frequentlifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
