ResponsibilitiesMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete new hire fabrication training and demonstrate aptitude for fabrication tasks
- Learn the functionality of our panel run-out machine, and how to trouble shoot and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Confidently tow a trailer and be able to back the trailer into technical areas to perform panel runouts.
- Follow drawings and work instructions to prepare metal trim and run metal panels in warehouse or out on job site.
- Represent Maxcos safety culture by working safely and preventing people from getting hurt.
- Prepare material for fabrication or integration into final equipment.
- Work under the supervision of a production lead to prepare orders and prepare to run out panels.
- Measure, cut, and work with various materials such as steel sheets, coils, and various fastening components.
- Clean, paint, wrap, move, and load completed product to prepare for delivery.
- Use industrial machinery and tools to perform job duties including, but not limited to various types of saws, drills, grinders, jig saw, drill press.
- Travel to various customer sites to perform panel runouts, material pick up and/or drop off and other related travel.
- Demonstrate compatibility with Maxco Team Values, including working safely, having a positive attitude, leading by example, showing an eagerness to learn, being a team player, working efficiently, and focusing on producing quality work.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Works as part of the mechanical production team. Supervised by Production Leads. Reports to Maxco General Manager.
QualificationsEXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
2 or more years of fabrication preferred, but not required.
Must demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and the ability to use tools.
Must be able to read and understand drawings and written instructions.
Must have good communication skills.
Must have a good attitude, be eager to learn, and willing to work on a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The following requirements are essential for safe performance of this job:
- Must be able to lift objects weighing 70 lbs. and twist at the waist.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and twist at the waist.
- Must be able to frequently push and pull objects weighing 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, and lie on level, uneven and slippery concrete surfaces.
- Must be able to reach through low and high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination.
- Must be able to sit and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity for the use of common tools is required.
- Must be able to climb using 3 points of contact.
- Must be capable of working in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
- Work will be on average half time outside and half time in production facilities.
- Color vision, hearing, and vision must be in normal ranges.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment. Exposure to weather conditions, such as cold and heat, noise and dust/particles caused by welding, cutting, sawing and other fabrication activities associated with the production of industrial process equipment.
