By joining our Utility Relocation Section as a Transportation Engineer I in Fleming County, you'll have the opportunity to perform the duties and tasks associated with the relocation of utilities in preparation of highway construction.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Facilitation of the utility relocation process in preparation of roadway improvement projects
Review roadway and utility plans, managing agreements (contracts) and reimbursements
Field review and inspection of utility relocation construction
Roadway Project Management - The facilitation of Planning, Design, Right of Way and Utility Relocation processes
Review plans, providing estimates, identifying conflicts, resolving issues
Ideal candidate will have experience in:
Utility relocation
Project management
Contract administration
Roadway plan reading
Conflict identification and resolution

Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors OR must be licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license from the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors within the employee's initial six month probationary period. Engineering decisions recommended by individuals without a Kentucky Professional Engineering License must be approved by a KRS Chapter 322 Licensed Professional Engineer until licensure is obtained. For additional information refer to: Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in the office and in the field. Will be exposed to risks inherent to construction sites which requires the following of safety procedures.
