Structural Engineer – Structural Steel Fabrication & Design

We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join a well-established structural steel fabricator with a strong track record of delivering large-scale, high-profile projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and rewarding structures, collaborating closely with project managers, fabricators, and detailers to ensure designs are both innovative and buildable.

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, reviewing, and optimizing structural steel systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel-framed buildings and miscellaneous steel structures

• Review and approve shop drawings, connection designs, and fabrication details

• Collaborate with project managers, detailers, and fabricators to resolve design and constructability issues

• Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, specifications, and industry standards (AISC, AWS, IBC, etc.)

• Provide engineering support throughout fabrication and erection phases

• Prepare calculations, technical reports, and documentation for submittals and approvals

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

• 3+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on steel structures

• Strong knowledge of steel design codes and standards (AISC, AWS, ASTM)

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Experience working with steel fabricators and erectors

• Familiarity with Tekla, SDS/2, or BIM coordination

Compensation & Benefits:

• $100,000 – $120,000 (DOE)
