Maintenance Laborer

Job Requirements Starting Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 hourly Keep our housing properties in top shape! From repairs and equipment upkeep to lawn care and snow removal, you'll help ensure safe, clean, and comfortable spaces for our residentsall year round. Day Shift Available: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm What does a Maintenance Laborer do? Performs daily work orders as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Provides regular janitorial services for Rental Housing property and other properties under the jurisdiction of the Rental Housing Program. Performs grounds maintenance work including but not limited to: grass cutting, grass trimming, flower and shrub planting, weeding and other landscaping activities. Performs light electrical, plumbing and carpentry work. Provides snow and ice removal including, but not limited to: plowing, snow blowing, ice-chipping, shoveling and spreading salt and ice melt. Assists in the review and implementation of all mechanical specifications and operational manuals to ensure regularly scheduled maintenance requirements are met. Work Experience To be successful as a Maintenance Laborer, you'll need: High School Diploma or Equivalency required. Demonstrated knowledge in basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry required. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid New York State Driver's license. Must have experience operating a variety of grounds maintenance equipment including riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters and other power equipment. Experience operating a snow plow and snow blower required. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
