Position Overview:

Our Ecoservices division is on the hunt for a Construction Manager to be based at our Hammond, IN plant.

We are not offering relocation or visa sponsorship for this role at this time.

We are not working with agencies on this role at this time.

The Construction Manager is responsible for providing construction management support for capital projects used to improve the operation of its Sulfuric Acid Units. This position will report to the Lead Project Engineer and is expected to provide a strong alliance between the Engineering Group and the various manufacturing units. The Construction Manager will primarily support the major capital project needs of the Hammond Plant but can be used as a supporting role at other Eco-Services plants. Duties will include receiving direction from the Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager working closely with Plant on the construction needs for the implementation of capital projects. The primary responsibility will be to provide full construction support for identified capital projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Work with Project Manager to implement schedule for construction of capital project. Provide direction/supervision to the respective work crews to meet the objectives of the identified construction schedule.
  • Analyze equipment issues and collaborate with Platform and/or Technical group to develop solutions.to achieve target project results
  • Manage, schedule, and coordinate all assigned work disciplines on capital projects.
  • Develop, justify, and submit project scopes and cost estimates.
  • Develop and submit capital project appropriation requests.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager on project budgets via tracking and forecasting project costs.
  • Utilize and/or develop engineering spreadsheets, cost programs, and scheduling programs.
  • Plan, prioritize, and redirect resources throughout each project phase to maintain project schedule.
  • Procure all materials needed for installation of project.
  • Manage projects in the field during construction.
  • Provide documents of all project files throughout project duration to Project Manager.
  • Ensure project compliance with applicable codes, laws, policies, and technical specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • College Degree is a plus (Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university), although will accept at least 10 years of Construction Management experience. Emphasis on mechanical skills and knowledge in I&E practices.
  • Experience level of 1 - 10 years in chemical plant environment
  • Experience in pipe installation/pipefitting
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Must have been exposed to, or willing to learn, basic project management processes / techniques (example: AutoCad, Microsoft Project, etc.).
  • Must have experience in using and developing project construction schedules.
  • Must be organized, systematic, independent, and self-motivated.
  • Must have proficient multi-tasking skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of local and state laws and applicable OSHA standards.
  • Prefer previous experience (including internships) in field management.
