MECHANIC

We are looking to hire a Mechanic in Charlotte, NC. The Mechanic services and maintains fleet vehicles and equipment. The Mechanic is responsible for maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, off-road equipment, small tools, aerial lift and pulling equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair cars, trucks, off-road equipment, aerial lifts, pulling equipment, and small tools
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs and respond to breakdowns in a safe and efficient manner
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment safety, reliability, and longevity
  • Inspect and service aerial lift and pulling equipment to meet manufacturer and safety standards
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed, including minor design modifications
  • Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including forklifts, drill presses, bandsaws, cranes, and welding torches
  • Change oil and perform general maintenance (e.g., tire rotation, brake service, decal application) on trucks ranging from ton to 2-ton
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of required PPE (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hard hats)
  • Maintain a clean and secure work area daily
  • Work extended hours and in various weather conditions as needed
  • Safely operate forklifts and assist in moving equipment and materials
  • All other duties assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Valid Driver's License is required

  • Class "B" CDL preferred

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience in the pipeline industry is preferred

  • Reliable and able to work in a team environment.

  • Sufficient reading skills to comprehend all repair and parts manuals and safety specifications.

  • Physical activity for the role includes:

  • Able to move about in an around construction vehicles and equipment.

  • Ability to crawl over and under construction vehicles and equipment.

  • Flexibility of working long hours and the ability to work in all types of weather conditions

  • Ability to pull, lift and carry heavy objects

  • Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance

  • Site visits as needed

  • May experience variable weather conditions during site visits, including hot and cold weather

  • Standing, and walking for long periods, on variable terrain

  • Repeated lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Repeated motions such as kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
