Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to lead the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of capital projects ranging from $1M to $40M. This role is responsible for electrical power and controls engineering, including equipment upgrades, design, material and service specification, and managing installations, startups, and troubleshooting. The Electrical Engineer will drive projects from scope definition through execution, collaborating with plant teams, contractors, and maintenance personnel to ensure equipment functionality, reliability, and efficiency. The role also includes recommending improvements to enhance equipment and production system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical power and controls engineering tasks, including equipment upgrades, design, material and service specification.
  • Oversee installations, startups, and troubleshooting to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Collaborate with plant teams, contractors, and maintenance personnel for efficient project execution.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment and production system performance.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an electrical engineer.
  • Strong background in capital project management.
  • Experience in electrical power and controls engineering, including equipment specification, installation, and hand-off to operations.
  • Experience with high voltage systems, specifically 480VAC.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, Rockwell preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate and motivate cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in combustion, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Background in extrusion, casting, and fabrication operations.
  • Familiarity with electrical control systems, including motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and other relevant electrical safety standards.
Work Environment

This position is within a foundry environment where most of the time will be spent in a cubicle connected to a industrial plant. The team comprises five engineers, including Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and a manager.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
