Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our construction project team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and managing electrical designs and drawings for building and infrastructure projects in accordance with industry codes, client specifications, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical design drawings including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communication, and grounding systems using AutoCAD/Revit or other relevant software.
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop, and coordination studies.
  • Ensure designs meet NEC, NFPA, IEEE, local building codes, and client-specific standards.
  • Collaborate with civil, structural, and mechanical engineers to coordinate all building systems.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and material specifications.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs and conducting site inspections.
  • Prepare design documentation including schematics, schedules, and specifications.
  • Attend project meetings, site visits, and coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Ensure all designs are cost-effective, energy-efficient, and constructible.
  • Participate in value engineering and identify opportunities for design optimization.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech or equivalent).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT preferred (or equivalent certification based on region).
  • 37 years of electrical design experience in the construction industry (buildings, infrastructure, or industrial projects).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software such as ETAP, SKM, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC).
  • Experience with construction documents and field coordination.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Work Environment

This position is based 100% onsite at our Boston office. We are focused on growing our Electrical team and are looking for someone who can contribute to business development.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
