Now Hiring a Project Estimator! Job Description

We are seeking a Project Estimator with hands-on experience in estimating and project planning within the construction industry. The Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting field operations, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role encompasses utilities, civil infrastructure, and commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate cost estimates and project plans based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
  • Collaborate with field leadership, including superintendents and foremen, to align project execution with estimates.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment to meet project timelines and budget requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work aligns with project scope and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, and compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Maintain documentation of quantities, costs, and performance metrics throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in pre-construction activities, including meetings, submittals, and vendor coordination.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce rework.
Essential Skills
  • Estimation skills with a degree in Construction Management or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating or related fieldwork.
  • 3 years of experience in estimation on transportation, grading, paving, and concrete projects.
  • Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and scheduling practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Valid drivers license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with estimation-specific software such as Bluebeam, Procore, and Timberline.
  • Experience with estimating software like HCSS is a plus.
  • Experience utilities, concrete flatwork, or structural concrete is highly desirable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
