Refrigeration Technician

Job Duties

• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance for equipment in assigned accounts.
• Troubleshoot problems related to Shamrock equipment and make resolution recommendations.
• Prepare for and install new equipment.
• Answer technical support calls regarding products, dispensers, installations and applications.
• Solder, braze and use acetylene torch.
• Able to replace expansion valves, cap tubes, compressors, evaporators and other refrigeration system components.
• Test and identify systems for refrigeration leaks and able to perform repairs.
• Knowledge and EPA certification for a variety of refrigerant and refrigerants oils.
• Ability to run wiring, make electrical connections, and light plumbing to connect new equipment installs.
• Basic Qualifications
• Commercial Refrigeration Trade school degree
• 3-5 years of commercial refrigeration experience in installation and/or service.
• Prefer experience in bar/restaurant refrigeration.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including electricity aptitude
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, ability to understand equipment through schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic process.
• Experience with walk in freezers/coolers, reach ins, pantry units, ice machines, and beverage dispensing refrigeration systems.
• Must know how to operate and use common refrigerants such as 404A and R22. Knowledge of R290 is preferred.
• Self-motivated, reliable, professional, able to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and management.
