Description: **Overview** Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Investigator /Project Manager to join our growing Cultural Resources team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in archaeology and/or historic architecture, demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication skills, and be fully capable of managing multiple cultural resources projects from proposal through completion.*Join our Environmental team and build your career alongside the best our industry has to offer. Whether you're interested in working on local, state, federal or private projects, Colliers Engineering & Design is a workplace that will accelerate YOUR success!* **Responsibilities** - Serve as Principal Investigator on a variety of archaeological and historic preservation projects across the United States, with a focus on Section 106 and Section 110 compliance.- Lead and manage all aspects of project execution including planning, budgeting, scheduling, fieldwork oversight, client correspondence, and reporting.- Coordinate with State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs), Tribal representatives, and federal, state, and local clients to ensure regulatory compliance.- Prepare and review technical reports, historic contexts, and National Register evaluations with an emphasis on high-quality writing and defensible recommendations.- Supervise and mentor junior staff, conduct QA/QC review of all deliverables, and ensure consistency with company and regulatory standards.- Oversee field investigations when needed, including Phase I-III archaeological surveys and historic structure evaluations.- Ability to complete archaeological fieldwork as needed.- Track project milestones, ensure adherence to budget and schedule, and proactively communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders.- Collaborate with other CED service lines (e.g., environmental, geospatial, engineering) on multi-disciplinary projects. **Qualifications** Required Qualifications:- M.A. or M.S. in Anthropology, Archaeology, Historic Preservation, Architectural History, or a closely related field.- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cultural resources management.- Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology and/or Architectural History.- Demonstrated experience corresponding with SHPOs, clients, and federal agencies.- Ability to direct archaeological fieldwork and historic structure evaluations, and to step into the field when needed.- Excellent writing, editing, and critical thinking skills with a portfolio of high-quality technical reports.- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely, compliant deliverables.- Familiarity with federal preservation laws and regulations including Section 106 of the NHPA, NEPA, and state-level requirements.- Experience with SHPO consultation processes in multiple states.- Travel approximately 50% or more.- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working in one or more of the following regions: Midwest, Gulf Coast, or New Jersey.- Strong background in historic architecture or combined prehistoric/historic expertise.- Working knowledge of ArcGIS, CRIS, or other state cultural resource databases.- RPA (Registered Professional Archaeologist) status or eligible preferred. **What We Offer** At Colliers Engineering & Design, our people are our most important resource.
