The Pulp Drier Foreman performs and directs other pulp drier, pellet mill and Process Technician staff (where applicable) in the day-to-day operating requirements of the area.
Principle Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Effectively instructs, supervises and motivates all personnel assigned to pulp drying, pelletizing, pulp bagging and pulp loading.
Monitors and supervises the pulp drying operation so that fuel cost per ton of pulp dried are optimized.
Operates within prescribed parameters on dried pulp moisture, pellet moisture and bulk density of pellets.
Implements emergency procedures in event of steam dryer plug, drumfire or a fire in related equipment.
Generates and prioritizes maintenance notifications.
May monitor and operate the steam drier.
May perform the duties of the Pulp Dryer Fireman.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
And, individuals are required to take a Combined Basic Skills Test and Mechanical Aptitude Test to verify basic skills and knowledge.
Individuals are required to submit to and successfully pass a Safety Screen that evaluates their ability to safely execute duties and tasks of this position.
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively and perform basic math.
Must be able to read and understand written information, including equipment manuals, permits, the O&M manual, etc.
Forklift certification required.
