Position Overview

Licensed architect that participates in the conceptual design of large scope and complex projects and provides full support through the entire project. Serves as an SME on areas of expertise. Project size and complexity differentiates this position from Architect III.

Responsibilities (subject to change, modification as needed) are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects.
  • Works closely with Project Management, Engineering, other Architects, and consultants to execute project plans.
  • Can be relied upon to present directly to clients on technical and design solutions.
  • Develops and represents the lead technical viewpoint on projects.
  • Coordinates with Director on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
  • Coordinates with Project Manager to directly supervise the teams activities and provides developmental guidance.
  • May include special expertise, SME roles.
  • Travels for client meetings, consultant coordination, site surveys, construction administration, etc. (10% of time reserved for travel)
Requirements

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited college or university.
  • (Active) Registered Architect.
  • 15+ years experience in the field of Architecture.
  • Prior experience leading and coordinating design staff and contractors.
  • Substantial experience developing details and providing planning and design support for large and complex projects.
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD, scheduling software, specification software, and standard business software (MSOffice, Adobe suite, Google docs). Thorough understanding of BIM workflow.
  • Continuing education relevant for position.
  • Membership/activity in a non-profit or community interest group a plus.
