8:00am - 4:30pm (summer)

Job Description:
This position provides supervision and oversight of 7 Facilities Electronics Technicians and 4 Locksmith trades by managing corrective and preventative maintenance needs, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by enforcement of OSHA regulations and university policies, train and instruct staff on methods and procedures, developing schedules, assigning and monitoring workload with needs and priorities, and implementing productivity standards and resolving operational conflicts.
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree, two (2) plus years of management experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience is desirable.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Interpret and enforce the bargaining unit contract, University policies and individual department policies.
  • Technical experience in several essential mechanical building trades electrical and fire alarm systems.
  • Advanced technical, computer, oral and written communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Daily inspection and monitoring of all building systems.
  • Identify, prioritize and plan for both emergent and ongoing facilities needs and opportunities for improvement/collaboration with other buildings and systems.
  • Be proactive and work with CPDC team members to produce measurable results and operational efficiencies.
  • Supervise and instruct staff on methods and procedures concerning both daily and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing compliance with OSHA regulations, Syracuse University safety department including ADA
  • Coordinate outside contractors and consultants to compliment in-house maintenance resources.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
