Summary
As a maintenance mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. This position is Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

- Follows all appropriate company safety rules and regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, and any and all local, state, or federal agencies to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- Follows all appropriate safety procedures while working near or with electrical, plumbing, railcars, heights, sugar pit,
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Installing new production equipment.
- Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
- Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
- Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
- Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
- Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
- Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
- Operates hand and power/electrical tools and equipment (i.e. shovels, wrenches, saws, welders, drills, lawn mower, fork lift, high lift, etc.)
- Initiate and execute work including but not limited to the following:
- Mechanical assembly, bearings, gearboxes, and pumps
- General maintenance, basic wiring and carpentry, plumbing and trouble shooting.
- Initiate and implement work with controls and panel assembly and lighting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
- Knowledge of parametric and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer and report writing skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
- Good time-management skills.
Required education and experience
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Plumbing, electrical, and welding experience preferred.
Work environment and physical demands
- Prolonged periods of walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, turning, sitting, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
- Will be exposed to working outside, in hot, cold, and humid weather. Working area could be dry, icy, wet, or noisy. Employee may encounter odors, inadequate lighting, mechanical hazards, moving objects, high places, and electrical hazards. Must be able to work in and around others. May be exposed to fuel vapors and sudden temperature changes. May be exposed to petroleum-based products (motor oil, hydraulic oil, etc.). May be exposed to chemicals (boiler and cleaning chemicals etc.).
Compensation
- $24.00 per hour to $27.00 per hour plus $2.00 per hour shift differential when actively working 2nd or 3rd shift

Travel required
- The home office for this role is indicated at the top of this job description. Travel to other ingredients PLUS locations may be required as business needs arise.
