Senior Principal Sourcing Project Engineer
AtriCure, Inc. has an opening for the Senior Principal Sourcing Project Engineer in Mason, OH. The Senior Principal Sourcing Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing manufacturing and capacity projects to support supply chain growth initiatives.
Duties include:
- Lead all project management activities including the facilitation of DFM and GD&T discussions with PD teams and suppliers on complex components to ensure manufacturability;
- Lead project execution and project execution teams creating additional capacity within the supply base and lead cost savings initiatives;
- Focus project efforts on process optimization including changes to manufacturing methodology and supply chain strategy;
- Support the supplier selection process, based on technical capability and installed capacity;
- Collaborate and work closely as a technical liaison between AtriCure engineering and suppliers;
- Lead, manage and execute technical projects to support long term growth;
- Act as an expert in the change management process for medical device component manufacturing;
- Lead development teams on DFM and GD&T to ensure component manufacturability;
- Provide project updates to executive leadership team;
- Collaborate across functions to ensure all changes and projects are managed in accordance with AtriCure procedures and regulations;
- Develop and optimize project execution process for supply chain related projects;
- Work closely with suppliers in developing capital and manufacturing strategies including strategy for the execution of process validations; and
- Identify and lead supply chain continuous improvement efforts.
- Anticipated less than 10% of domestic and international travel to supplier sites.
Required:
Bachelor's degree inEngineering or related field (foreign equivalent degree accepted)
10 years of progressive, post degree experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related role.
10 years of experience in each of the following:
Design of experiments (DOE);
Process capability analysis;
Statistical process control (SPC); and
Lean manufacturing principles.
5 years of experience in each of the following:
Medical device component manufacturing and qualification;
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for component design;
Implementing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) strategies to optimize component designs for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes;
Process validation and associated verification activities;
Equipment selection, design, and qualification for manufacturing processes;
Implementing process changes, including change control procedures and impact assessments; and
Multi-disciplined manufacturing processes such as metal machining, metal injection molding (MIM), plastic injection molding.
3 years of experience in each of the following:
Project management focused on component design and process development in the medical device industry;
Managing cross functional team initiatives;
Budget and schedule management; and
Leading executive management reviews.
Experience may be gained concurrently. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check is required.
