Structural Fitter/Welder

1st week responsibility-Candidate will have to be able to take prints and assigned projects, grab materials and assemble, fit, and weld to specifications needed.Job Description -Candidate will be required to do welding and fitting on large steel assemblies for the building trades such as I beams, and trusses. They also will be working on hand rails and stairs. This is in on large room like a barn. Steel is brought in using a Sky lift and placed using an overhead crane. They are doing all MIG welding and Flux Core on structural steel. They use overhead cranes to set up their workThis position will be doing a large amount of cutting, trimming, grinding, and fitting the assemblies.Fitters will get the structural steel blue prints from the detailer and layout their steel on a table where they will use Flux Core to tack everything together then a welder will finish it off with MIG. Skills Structural steel, Blueprint, fitting, fabrication, Mig, Flux core, Structural steel, Blueprint reading, Mig welding, Weld Top Skills Details Structural steel,Blueprint,fitting,fabrication Additional Skills & Qualifications MUST1- 1 year Structural Blue Print reading/ They must understand the Weld Symbols2- 1 year Fitting experience (laying out the steel according the blue prints)3- 1 year Structural Steel welding experience using MIG and Flux CoreA person with Structural Steel fabrication experience is proficient in reading drawings and blueprints. They have experience welding on wide flange, pipe, handrail, columns, beams. And experience with hand plasma and oxy and acetylene torches. We will find people that have done die rack builds, built the frames for machines, production welding, and sheet metal welding. These are people to wrap up, but not a good enough for the fitter openings.Has to be at least 1 year large Structural steel/fitting experience, and has to be within the last 2 years. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
