Hard Tile Setter Jobs in Kansas
Install hard tile on walls, floors, and other surfaces. Hard tile setters must first prepare the surface on which they will fix the tile by cleaning and leveling it. They then read the design plans to determine how to measure and cut the tiles so they fit customer expectations. Before arranging the tiles, however, the setter must prepare mortar and spread it across the base surface so the tiles will adhere and set properly.
Hard tile setters use a wide range of tools. For example, power wet saws, tile scribes, and hand-held cutters are used for cutting tiles, while trowels of various sizes are used to spread mortar. They also depend on spacers, which are placed between tiles until the mortar dries to ensure that the gaps between them are all the same size.
