Millwright Jobs in Saint James, MN
A Millwright in the construction industry is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and heavy equipment. They play a critical role in construction projects by ensuring that all machines and equipment function optimally and safely. Their tasks include interpreting blueprints and schematic diagrams, moving machinery and equipment, aligning and adjusting machine parts, and performing preventative and predictive maintenance. They may also be involved in the construction of machinery and equipment, requiring excellent welding and fabrication skills.
It's critical for a Millwright to possess strong mechanical and technical skills, problem-solving ability, physical strength and stamina, and an understanding of safety protocols. They should have completed a Millwright apprenticeship program and, in many regions, be certified or licensed. Prior experience as a Machine Operator, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, or Industrial Mechanic often precedes a career as a Millwright. With years of hands-on experience, a Millwright may progress to a supervisory or managerial role in the construction industry.
