Apply plaster, cement, stucco, or other similar material to interior or exterior building surfaces. When repairing walls or ceilings, plasterers and stucco masons must match joint profiles, texture, tooling, and coloring in order to preserve consistency and appearance. They can either create their own blend on site or buy bagged mix. Occasionally, they may need to remove a portion of previously applied mortar before adding the new material.
Plasterers also work on projects intended solely for decorative purposes, such as crown molding. Such ornamental plaster may form intricate patterns and designs that require attention to detail and careful planning.
