Job Description

Northern California Developer & General Contractor is seeking a dynamic Superintendent with previous commercial experience. Superintendent will provide effective and consistent supervision and management of construction work for all trades and vendors while maintaining company policies and delivering each project on time and within budget. Communication, problem solving, organization, prioritization, and leadership are key characteristics sought in a candidate


Experience Required: 

10 year’s minimum of Commercial or a combination of Commercial and Residential construction, with a competent familiarity with construction components from foundations to finishes. 

High school diploma required, college degree preferred 

Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record; employment contingent on successfully passing a background check. 

Computer savvy and capable of effectively using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar project planning platforms is a plus!! 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to write clear, concise, and professional business communications 

Ability to interpret, reconcile, and resolve field versus plan discrepancies 

Must have strong knowledge of all construction trades and an ability to read and interpret architectural plan and blueprints


Key Responsibilities:

Ability to create and maintain an accurate 3 week long look ahead schedule 

Coordinate and manage construction with sub-contractors and client’s vendors 

Manage day to day operations of the construction site, including monitoring of all local, state, and federal workplace laws and regulations. 

Project observation, review, and reporting to ensure that the project will meet its scheduled completion dates 

Candidates must have the ability to identify the need, remove the barriers, and possess the know how to “make things happen” by organizing processes and systems, eliminating conflicts, and harmonizing workflow 

Must lead a workplace that respects diversity and protects the rights of workers, immediately reporting any actual or suspected workplace harassment or discrimination to management. 

Daily safety observations and maintenance. Generate and submit a daily safety checklist 

Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times 

Supervise and manage project completion and job close-out to meet schedule requirements 

Manage completion of punch lists in a timely manner 

Thoroughly review plans and specifications 

Maintain high quality standards 

Work directly with clients, architects, and engineers 

Creating and maintaining all records for RFI’s and Field Memos, and Field Authorizations 

Protect the interests of the company at all times by maintaining control over company-owned assets, ensuring a safe and respectful workplace, and working with the utmost integrity in all you do.

Attention to detail, conflict management skills, negotiation skills, organizational skills, decision making abilities, problem solving abilities, communication skills, math proficiencies and ability to work with others.


This position requires sitting, standing, walking, and climbing- sometimes for extended periods of time. Occasional use of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other equipment may be required, as will occasional investigation/inspection of work in tight or remote locations. Lifting up to 50 pounds and working in non-conditioned environments will occur with frequency, as will work in loud, dusty, and unfinished space. Some evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required. Salary based on experience.
