Job Summary
As Plumbing Project manager for D&F Plumbing, you must be highly driven, incredibly reliable, and have a “take-charge” attitude. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate, train, delegate and oversee multiple departments to maximize production and profitability. You will primarily lead a team of aprox. 25 techs for the service, repair and small remodel divisions. The team consists of varying knowledge levels and skill sets, so being intimately familiar with plumbing codes and standards in Oregon and Washington is a must!
The Plumbing Manager has a wide range of duties that demand strong skills in customer and employee relations, phone interactions, sales, organization, training and data entry. From maintaining smooth workflow processes to creating new systems for efficiency, we expect someone who can establish structure and bring positive results.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain a high level of professionalism and patience with coworkers and customers
Delegate and supervise tasks assigned to various people and departments
Manage and facilitate service and repair techs, re-pipe crews, laborer crews, sewer crews, etc.
Learn, navigate, and have a comprehensive understanding of the company software systems (Service Titan, Google suite, Outlook, Sage, etc.)
Train field and office employees in Service Titan and other softwares as needed
Be knowledgeable on pricing and build, edit and update the current price book
Estimating of smaller size projects, up to 50k
Handle all phases of smaller plumbing projects of varying types; including pricing, billing, permits, scheduling, organizing, material procurement, planning, small project planning and development, etc.
Lead and train staff on the best ways to convert calls into booked service appointments
Answer incoming calls regarding service questions, scheduling, payments, billing issues, and general customer concerns
Oversee the dispatching of technicians to maximize efficiency and reduce cancellations
Ensure sufficient staffing to meet the demand of feast or famine seasons in the industry, fluctuating workloads and requested vacation or sick days
Monitor staff performance by reviewing recorded calls and advise staff on how to improve customer interactions and promote sales
Refine phone scripts so they’re clear, compelling and result in more booked calls
Mentor technicians and CSRs on how to build value and trust with customers
Create a formal coaching and training system that is goal oriented and measurable, with incentive programs to inspire and motivate staff in each department
Monitor performance of field technicians and advise them on proper customer service and quality workmanship
Hold technicians and CSRs accountable for meeting sales goals and growth
Assist in hiring, scheduling, counseling, training and disciplining of employees
Strategize and make recommendations for plumber acquisition, retention and loyalty
Resolve customer complaints or problems to turn frustrated clients into repeat customers
Promote and review accident-free and healthy work environments with occasional safety visits or safety training
Ensure staff is properly trained and kept up-to-date on any procedural changes or updates to the business
Provide technical support for field technicians when needed
Check to ensure that each job is completed with proper documentation and payments returned to the office
Alleviate workload for miscellaneous office duties including answering phones, responding to emails, word processing of proposals, field support, project management, purchase of materials, and various duties for customers or vendors
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing and achieving results for other tasks or projects as needed
Skills & Qualifications
A proven track record in the plumbing industry and prior Service Manager experience
5+ years in management
Knowledge of the flat-rate pricing system
Punctual and committed to regular attendance
Highly motivated, self-starter who is flexible and has a positive attitude
Knowledge of plumbing codes and plumbing standards for both Oregon and Washington
Must be IT competent, with knowledge in computer applications, Microsoft programs, and modern technology to include iPhones, iPads, Androids, etc.
Computer and typing proficient, 40+ wpm
Prior experience with Service Titan software is a huge plus
Good physical health with the ability to lift up to 40 pounds
