Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Electrician to join our growing Maintenance team! The primary function of the Electrician is to maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum efficiency of our mining operations. This role operates 100% of the time in both underground and surface mining facilities.

A typical day for a Senior Electrician may include:

  • Coordinating all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for mining operations
  • Troubleshooting AC / DC motor controls and drives for underground as well as surface limestone mines
  • Actively researching potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting
  • Working closely with the engineering team and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects
  • Supporting corporate safety culture and performing duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
  • Leading by example on all Martin Marietta safety rules/procedures and MSHA compliance standards and ensure that all employees are following established safety policies and procedures

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Hold an electrical license, journeyman certification required
  • Have 5 years of experience in aggregates or a similar industry (this is preferred, not required)
  • Have experience with production conveyors and crusher operations, trouble shooting and repair (this is preferred, not required)
  • Are a self-starter who can work independently as well as on a team
  • Can utilize Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Excel
  • Possess the ability to read and understand operator, parts, repair manuals, and electrical schematics including ladder logic, used for new installations and troubleshooting existing equipment
  • Have knowledge of industrial plant operations pertaining to crushing
  • Understand National Electric Code (NEC), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) electric standards
  • Have experience troubleshooting electric motors
  • Can work irregular shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime/on-call as required
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a company vehicle

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
