Electrical Estimator

Egan Company is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team As part of our Electrical Construction team the Estimator will work both internally and externally to grasp the electrical scope of projects and propose viable budgets Youll play a critical role on the team and move projects forward by providing timely accurate and consistent estimates With the flexibility of working hybrid you can collaborate alongside team members with a blend of working in the office and remote Responsibilities Develop plan & spec design build and design assist estimatesDevelop and communicate the trade specific scope of workReview all architectural structural mechanical and specialty systems drawings and specificationsWrite a scope letter spelling out assumptions clarifications and exclusionsReview all documents as they relate to the projectCompile and develop a list of necessary subcontractors minimum three per tradeDevelop subcontractor scopes and vet them out as they come inCommunicate Request For Proposal RFP scope and coordination itemsCompile a list of required materials and equipment as it relates to the projectAttend pre bid conferences walkthroughs and regular job site visits to see the project during constructionEntry of take offs into Accubid AnywhereMaking sure extension labor & materials are currentAssist in the development of budget estimatesDevelop standardized assemblies and unit costsReview project schedule and phasing requirementsUnderstand plan for constructability material handling pre fabrication means and methods identify riskIdentify general condition needs tools required equipment rentals lifts and miscellaneousParticipate in project turnover and setupParticipate in post project reviewsParticipate in the design meetings with customers until GMPPerform additional duties and assignments as requestedneededRequirements2 year associates degree is required5 10 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in a related industryQualificationsExperience with computerized estimating software including Accubid Anywhere highly preferredAbility to read and interpret electrical specifications and drawingsWorking knowledge of codes in the electrical discipline National Electrical CodeAbility to size electrical power conduit and wireExcellent organizational and communication skills including customer follow through requiredProficiency in the use of standard computer programs such as MS Project Google Suite Applications PDF File Editor programs Word Bluebeam and ExcelEffectively work with tight deadlines and schedulesAbility to review equipment solicit pricing and negotiate favorable terms as neededMust possess and maintain a valid drivers license and acceptable driving recordWorking ConditionsPerformance of duties will be in the office at customer sites and job sites as neededAbility to stand or sit for extended periodsExposure to loud noise dirt and exposure to the elements are to be expected on job
