Summary: The Maintenance Foreman- Mechanical Shop will work with the HVAC and Plumbing Departments to provide maintenance for the district's physical plant.
Qualification Requirements
- Training or experience with Honeywell Building Automation
- Three (3) years of experience in maintenance or repair of pumps, fans, compressors, and refrigerated systems.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of employment and must maintain a valid Class "D" New Mexico Driver's License.
Performance Responsibilities/Essential Duties
- Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; performs yearly evaluations of each employee under his/her supervision; motivates employees to achieve peak performance and productivity.
- Provides information, resolves problems, and advises customers on products and/or services, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Performs and oversees the preventative maintenance and repairs on specialty equipment and have a working knowledge of the equipment.
- Know how to read Mechanical blueprints to perform and oversee that work is done in accordance of job requirements of contractors/sub-contractors.
- Working knowledge in the use of power tools, proper ladder usage, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to learn new systems and BAS controls equipment and manipulation of controls within safe parameters.
- Must be able to get along with others and have good listening skills to help in diagnosing issues and aid in finding possible solutions.
- Ability to gain and increase in knowledge of management skills of a crew of technicians to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit, walk and stand; have manual and finger dexterity; stoop, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, heights and ladders. The employee is occasionally required to crawl, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, balance, push/pull, and carry. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with the assistance of another person or appropriate equipment.
This position is covered under the Department of Transportation (DOT), Anti-Drug and Alcohol Act pursuant to the Pipeline Safety and Commercial Drivers License Regulations, covering random, post-accident, pre-hire, and return to duty testing.
Work Environment: Work is generally performed in an office and an outdoors setting with a high noise level. Exposure to natural weather conditions with high exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, and requires following basic safety precautions. Travel, attendance at various meetings, on-site response to emergency situations and work outside of the normal business hours may be required.
Starting at $22.46 Hour.
1.00 FTE- 8 hour shift, 40 hour week.
249 work contract- July 1 to June 30
9 paid Holidays, and 11 non contract work days
