Mechanic/Welder

Job Description

SUMMARY

Diagnoses mechanical problems, repairs and rebuilds equipment; checks and schedules work; orders parts as needed; welds, sandblasts and paints equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To safely maintain and repair any equipment with the help of other personnel as needed

Perform welding and cutting operations on pipe and structural equipment

Maintain organization and cleanliness of the maintenance shop and work areas

Cutting steel with cutting torches

Welding critical equipment

Using hand and power tools to remove fasteners

Repairing pumps

Repairing gear boxes and transmission equipment

Carrying tools and equipment to and from work areas

Reviews layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components Job Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Must have a High school diploma or GED;Semi skilled or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds

Must be able to use welding and cutting equipment

Must be able to climb ladders

Must be available for call outs during non-scheduled work hours
