This division is responsible for performing small and large paint projects work involving moderate responsibility, complexity, and variety located in park facilities throughout Montgomery County.

This position will be part of the Facilities Management Division. This Division of 118 staff provides for the care and maintenance of the Departments physical assets including facilities, pavement, fleet, and major building systems. With a budget over $13 million dollars, the division is responsible for facility condition assessments, major and minor maintenance programs, and serves as the primary support to the Departments CIP. The division strives to achieve a balance between the upkeep of aging facilities and new construction by integrating a number of CIP and major maintenance projects into the daily work program each year.

  • Seasonal must have basic interest in the painting field.
  • Perform routine paint work.
  • Prepare various surfaces for painting.
  • Operate painting hand and power tools. Seasonal Painter
  • Receive and complete painting related work orders.
  • May complete required administrative paperwork and recordkeeping.
  • Perform glazing, apply putty, caulking, and drywall repairs.
  • Drive motor vehicles to carry workers and haul tools, equipment, materials, and supplies to jobsite. Loads and unloads trucks of tools, equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Provides routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Must have general knowledge of P.P.E (Personal Protection Equipment).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to assist with performing routine paint work.
  • Able to follow provided instructions on proper procedures and safety.
  • Able to complete required administrative paperwork and record keeping.
  • Able to understand verbal and written painting tasks.

Minimum Qualifications :
  1. High School diploma or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).
  2. 6 months of experience in the painting field.
  3. Valid drivers license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Drivers license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employees ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required by the position of assignment.
Working Conditions:
Seasonal must frequently: remain in a stationary position, move about inside the office and outside, operate vehicles, tools, equipment, ascend and descend ladders, position self to complete manual work, work in confined spaces, use correct P.P.E. when required, move equipment, tools and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds, and work in outdoor weather conditions.

Schedule: 4 days (30 hours) per week, 6:30 AM to 3:15 PM
