Job Location: Service Centre

Responsible for the planning and completion of all painting activities within Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools. Work duties include:

• Prepare various interior and exterior surfaces to receive a finish.
• Apply a variety of oil, latex or acrylic paints, varnish, and stains to surfaces using brush, roller or spray equipment.
• Mask, cover or place drop sheets to protect areas adjacent to the work area to protect from splashes or overspray. Cleaning of area upon completion by removing protective covers and replacing or attaching fixtures, shades, equipment and furniture.
• Exercises tact and diplomacy to alleviate concerns of staff, students and the public in situations where painting and decorating fumes or odors may be present or in situations where use or traffic must be restricted to allow for preparation, application and drying time.
• Supervision, scheduling and the assessment of projects and duties for self and direct reports as required.
• Prepares reports of work performed, materials, supplies used or required, and such other duties as may be required to meet organizational objectives and deadlines.
• Duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Hold a Journeyperson Painters certificate (a combination of experience and formal training may be considered in lieu of JP certificate.
• Grade 12 education
• Ability to lead and supervise staff.
• Demonstrated ability to work and interact well with others.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to safe working practice
• Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations along with Health and Safety Regulations within their trade
• Hold a valid Saskatchewan drivers license with an acceptable driving abstract.
• Five years related experience.
• Commitment to work duties within the classification and reliability in attendance.
• Commitment to ideals and principles of Catholic education

Terms of Employment:

• As per Collective Agreement:
• 8.0 hours/day
• To begin June 2, 2025
• Salary range - $36.08 - $40.76 per hour
