Primary Responsibilities: We are currently hiring for a Residential Estimator. This position's primary responsibility is to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for HVAC new construction projects.

Specific Duties & Tasks:

  • Reviews blueprints, change orders, and associated project specifications and past project data to compile accurate estimates for labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
  • Reviews project data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized take-off lists of sheet metal, duct, piping, valves, and associated equipment.
  • Estimates labor costs by phase based on labor standards and estimates materials/equipment costs.
  • Uses pre-determined profit factors after all costs have been included.
  • Draws HVAC design on blueprints and makes changes to same during “red-line” procedure.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Responsible for special projects as requested by management and other duties/ responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience.
  • Previous experience in HVAC or estimating, preferred.
  • Self-motivated and detail orientated. Must be able to multi-task, schedule, and prioritize.
  • Experience with position-specific programs such as Wrightsoft Manual J & Energy Gauge is preferred, but not required.
  • Computer literate with expert knowledge in MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint; working knowledge of all office equipment.
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Applicable military experience will be considered.
  • Successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.
