Main Responsibilities
Schedule maintenance work to each technician and follow up on schedule completion/adherence.Responsible for building technical training program to reduce outside maintenance costs.Report out maintenance KPIs weekly to the plant operations team including planned vs unplanned mechanical downtime.Give cost breakdown broken up between planned vs unplanned maintenance costs monthly to Plant and Maintenance Managers.Setup and schedule maintenance technical training with support of Maintenance and Reliability Manager.Responsible for tracking cost savings initiatives through maintenance practices.Have a sound understanding of RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and implementation.Facilitate between the maintenance department and operation planning including facilitating weekly scheduling meetings to discuss upcoming downtime.Buildout labor utilization reports and build into PM program.Build both PM (Preventive Maintenance) and PDM (Predictive Maintenance) routes for techniciansReview all planned work requests and determine validity and accuracy of information and engage the appropriate resources to set a preliminary priority.Reviews work request for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper charge number (if applicable), proper authorization, and discuss details with originator of the work order.Escalates issues to Maintenance leadership for work which is high priority and or compliance related.Obtain and organize all information required for the crafts to perform the work: drawings, vendor manual, supplemental instructional materials, special procedures, and other file material which is appropriate. Supplement this information by preparing any additional sketches, drawings, diagrams, notes, or any instructional material which will clarify the work to be performed.Approach all aspects of the work being performed with safety as the highest priority.Manage the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion. Status may include waiting for planning, waiting parts, ready to schedule, scheduled, etc.Verifies all material, information, tools and labor are available prior to scheduling.Works with Maintenance leads, supervisors and manager to determine resource availability and work to level the work force.Develops a preliminary workforce schedule by technician ensuring all skills requirement and resource availability is met.Leads planning and scheduling meetings with operation partners to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.Finalize the Maintenance resource schedule based on agreed plan with production.Follow up and communicates schedule to all resources: maintenance, production, outside services, vendors, and engineering.Attend and monitor Redzone Maintenance Huddles to stay up to date on plant operations.All other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned or required.
Qualifications/Required Skills
Education and/or Experience: Preferred of 5-10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or food manufacturing environment. Previous experience in any of the following categories is preferred (planning, scheduling, maintenance,) Experience utilizing software-based computer maintenance management system (CMMS) in a manufacturing environment is required.Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and compose instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from plant personnel, contractors, or vendors. Ability to effectively present maintenance information to cross-functional teams. Bilingual - Spanish speaking, writing, and translation skills are a tremendous asset, but not required.Reasoning Ability: Possess good analytical, quantitative, communication, problem solving, and technical skills. Must be able to read PIDs, equipment drawings, and spec sheets. Can creatively apply experience, common sense, and a strategic and economical business perspective to a variety of situations, processes, and people. Has the ability to manage several projects concurrently. Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy and work independently and professionally in a team environment.Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills. Team player who can positively influence change.Computer Skills: Working knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to independently format professional documents. Aptitude for navigating of ERP systems, preferred Dynamics 356 experience.
Other Details
Work Environment: The position is in a Plant office environment with moderate noise levels and requires sitting at a desk for extended periods and walking from point to point. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Approximately 15 - 30% travel to and from various company facilities.
