(training provided)- Operate manual and powered hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication machinery safely and effectively (e.g., shears, press brakes, punches, band saws, jig saws, grinders, cutting torches). (training provided)- Accurately assemble sign cabinets, frames, awnings, and other structures according to specifications. (extensive training provided)- (Journeyman+) Execute skilled welding techniques as required for specific projects.Layout and Measurement:- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, and isometric drawings to understand project requirements. (training provided)- Utilize measuring tools (tape measures, rulers, calipers) with high precision. (training provided)- Perform necessary mathematical calculations, including fractions and decimals, for accurate layout and material cutting. (training provided)Material Handling and Identification:- Identify various types of sheet goods, composites, metals, and other fabrication materials. (training provided)- Understand the properties and fabrication allowances/limitations of different materials. (training provided)- Handle materials safely and efficiently. (training provided)Quality Control and Troubleshooting:- Inspect materials and work-in-progress for defects or deviations from specifications. (training provided)- Identify and troubleshoot basic fabrication issues (Apprentice) or complex fabrication challenges (Journeyman+).
