FACILITIES - PLUMBER APPRENTICE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Assistant Facility Director, the Plumber Apprentice will organize and assist in facility maintenance, repair, and the physical operation of the Bentonville Public School District.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the directors in the management of proper care and maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment.

Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills with proven ability in planning, organizing and coordinating projects with others in a positive, efficient manner.

Performing quality maintenance work in all facilities within the district. Capable of performing plumbing repairs and replacements, installation of all plumbing fixtures, cleaning of sewer and drain lines, water heater installation/repairs/maintenance and pipe repairs/replacement. Ability to handle emergency plumbing situations and able to perform plumbing inspections.

Assist in researching new products, maintaining ADA compliance guides and Arkansas State Facilities Department regulations, etc., for the purpose of compliance, purchasing and securing bids for the district.

Maintain city, county and state plumbing codes on vessels and operating systems. Will be responsible for becoming boiler operator certified within one year of employment.

Maintaining adequate training and current licensing/certifications for the State of Arkansas.

Recognize, evaluate and correct safety hazards and advise supervisor of the issue.

Availability for after hours and weekend emergency calls involving facility needs.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
