DIRECT HIRE POSITIONPay: $32-$39/hourly
The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting in a highly automated SPC/LVT flooring manufacturing factory. The client is seeking an experienced mechanical and electrical technician.
Electrical responsibilities:
Leads all troubleshooting and process improvement that would require programming changes to PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, etc. in company facilities.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
Perform general electrical maintenance.
Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment to diminish and eliminate downtime.
Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.
Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
Replaces circuit breaker as needed.
Repair and replace components as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Adhere to all safety practices.
Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
Assist in training and mentoring electrical and mechanical technicians as needed.
Mechanical responsibilities:
Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
Orders and installs replacements parts for machines.
Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
Prepares reports documenting work performed.
Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance of machines.
Collaborates with product manager or plant manager regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Must be willing to travel internationally for training.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Ability to read blueprints
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
Mechanically inclined
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
Ability to read/interpret/update mechanical and electrical schematics/prints
Identification and proper use of tools
Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
Advanced understanding of e-stop systems
Advanced troubleshooting of electrical components such as PLC's, AC & DC drives, relay logic, single loop controllers, pneumatics & hydraulics
Ability to create advanced PLC systems and programs for process and operational control
Education:
Completion of formal apprenticeship and valid electrician's license required
Previous industrial electrician, mechanic (multicraft) experience strongly preferred
