Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Pipelayer with a background in underground water, storm, and sewer utility construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying and fitting pipe with precision and efficiency, while maintaining compliance with safety protocols and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, and install pipe systems and related supports for water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure

• Interpret blueprints and plans to ensure accurate elevations and proper layout of piping systems

• Use industry-standard practices and equipment to measure, cut, and connect pipes made of materials such as PVC, ductile iron, concrete, and steel

• Operate tools such as pipe cutters, saws, chisels, torches, and tampers

• Shoot grades and elevations using lasers and levels

• Cut, fit, and seal joints using appropriate methods including cement, caulking, Fernco couplings, and mechanical fittings

• Install pipe restraints, hangers, and supports as required

• Conduct pressure testing for leaks, primarily in water lines

• Maintain clean and safe work areas, including proper cleanup and storage of tools and materials

• Work in variable site conditions that include dust, mud, loud noise, and exposure to the elements

• Follow all company safety protocols and use PPE as required

• Complete job duties efficiently for up to 12-hour workdays

• Must be available for overtime, night work, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of utility pipe installation and job site practices

• Ability to read blueprints and construction plans

• Basic math skills; ability to read and write

• Experience working safely in and around trenches and confined spaces

• Full range of physical motion including bending, lifting, pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs

• Detail-oriented, dependable, and a team player

• Ability to operate small equipment and trucks is a plus

• Comfortable using smartphones and mobile apps for communication and reporting

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old

• High school diploma or GED required

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Minimum 1 year of experience in underground sewer/water/storm utility installation

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
