Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Foreman to oversee point repair and utility installation jobs. This role is essential to the success of our field operations and will directly manage crew members while ensuring quality and efficiency on site. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep experience in underground utilities, and is committed to upholding our standards of safety and excellence, but also doesn't mind being a working Foreman performing work alongside the crews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise the work of onsite crew members under the guidance of the Superintendent.
- Accurately record and submit daily crew hours, ensuring proper assignment of time and materials to cost codes.
- Complete and submit all required job reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Train laborers on tasks and monitor progress to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Provide constructive feedback on crew performance and recommend improvements.
- Address personnel issues promptly and report rule violations immediately to the Superintendent.
- Serve as the main communication channel between field crew and management.
- Develop and execute a daily plan of action to complete jobs within time and quality expectations.
- Communicate specific job requirements to crew before starting work, emphasizing client needs and safety.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure equipment and materials are ready and appropriate for jobsite conditions.
- Inspect and maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment for safety and readiness at the end of each workday.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
- Update the Superintendent regularly on progress and any issues or adjustments required to meet project goals.
- Report client feedback to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Consistently promote company values, safety culture, and quality workmanship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Must know basic math, be able to read and write clearly.
- Understanding of underground utility installation practices.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Must be a team player and lead by example.
- Must be attentive to detail and capable of following instructions and plans.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including heat, humidity, and all-weather conditions.
- Tech-savvy with smartphone proficiency (used for timekeeping, job reports, and communication).
- Ability to work safely and efficiently under pressure.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in underground utility work, with leadership experience preferred.
Required Certifications:
- CPR / First Aid
- OSHA 30
Preferred Certifications (a plus):
- Blue Card
- Flaggers Certification
- Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS)
