Civil Drafter

Read civil engineering and construction plans to identify topographical features, limits of areas, and existing and new infrastructure objects. Use AutoCAD software to perform takeoffs and estimate quantities from civil site plans, and prepare detailed shop drawings and construction details. Report results from takeoffs and deliver drawings in a timely, accurate and effective manner. Perform quality control/quality assurance to verify all information on company project drawing sets are correct and accurate, such as product placement areas, flow lines, cross sections, slope percentages, grading and general notes. Use design tools such as spreadsheets, execution of complex calculations and other special software tools for evaluation of erosion and scour potential, and select proper solutions. Communicate with civil engineers and contractors about questions regarding the civil drawings. Work from home at employee discretion once every two weeks is permissible
