Essential Functions:
Follows and assists in the development of weld guidelines and procedures for subassemblies and full products utilizing various tools and fixtures
Teams with engineering to develop new fabrication weldment procedures utilizing drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols in coordination with current standard work
Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) and Kaizen events to continuously improve processes, safety, and quality
Performs skills to interpret blueprints, drawings, and all welding processes through weld symbols and callouts
Trained in confined space safety requirements and procedures, and performs with the safety of self and others as a priority in all confined space situations
Performs basic skills to complete work orders, fabrication, and welding on the product and its components
Ensures all weldments comply with specific welding codes, procedures, and quality standards
Performs complex carbon arc gouging, oxy/acetylene torch cutting, and welding of multiple different welding processes
Performs and completes tasks with minimal supervision
Assists with training, coaching, and mentoring Finish Welder I and Weld Fabricators
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Welder Training Paths
Performs processes as outlined in Standard Work to develop and maintain consistency between shifts and areas
Transports material in the area or between areas utilizing overhead cranes, jibs, carts, magnets, and other devices
Works as a member of the manufacturing team to provide high-quality products that satisfy the customer (internal and external) and achieve manufacturing goals
Owns performance of equipment and work area through regular operator checks and maintenance resulting in operational equipment and work areas in good, clean, and orderly condition (Operator Performed Maintenance - OPM, and 5S)
Observes and adheres to all safety aspects/policies/training/callouts at all times and requires reporting of all near misses and incidents
Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
Performs quality inspections, completes reports/documents, and any other necessary paperwork, and enforces required rework before the customer
Communicate variances to established processes for an area or product
Performs other duties as assigned
Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees at different levels of the organization
Knowledge of equipment and dimensional tools, including their uses, and maintenance
Knowledge of specification and drawing interpretations; e.g. drawings, blueprints, and computers, and use of equipment needed to fabricate and perform the tasks at hand
Knowledge and experience with welding symbols, construction math, metallurgy, and technical report writing
Knowledge of multiple welding areas across multiple manufacturing value streams
Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations including defining problem description and next steps (containment)
Knowledge of current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
Display good work habits, accuracy and exceptional attention to detail, and quality of work and awareness
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates proficiency skills with a cutting torch, layout and fit-up tools, blueprints, drawings, and defined welding processes
The ability to demonstrate technical skills as a skilled welder and fabricator to effectively perform assigned welding tasks
Adaptable to changing schedules and exhibits time management skills
Ability to follow logical troubleshooting and standard operating procedures when performing welding processes
Ability to develop thinking and problem-solving skills to learn and understand the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong work ethic being dependable, reliable, and honest with demonstrated integrity
Ability to follow standard work to ensure quality work
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in fabrication and welding
Knowledge of portable bore welding equipment and different NDT methods
Ability to work in confined space entry; Methane/02 Deficiency
Required to be a self-starter and self-motivated with an exceptional safety record
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
A minimum of five years' experience of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred; five years or more required
Multiple Welding Certifications required in the FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW welding processes in the 1-3 G/F positions
Additional Requirements:
Valid Driver's license Required
Required PC skills to use MS Office and Holt Operating System (DBS, SIS)

Physical Requirements:
A significant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, and reaching
Constant movement and use of limbs, and hands, this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbing up and down ladders and/or equipment
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath blocked and cribbed equipment
Frequently lifts and moves materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Requires wearing proper protective and safety equipment (PPE)
Regularly works around moving equipment and is exposed to flashes of light from welding, and loud noise levels
Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or on elevated surfaces and/or designated confined spaces
Possible exposure to minor burns and cuts - must be reported for proper treatment
