Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Purchasing & Logistics to lead our procurement and logistics operations. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans that support the company's goals, managing vendor relationships, optimizing inventory levels, and driving cost efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing and logistics team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Set performance targets, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and feedback.

Develop and implement strategic plans for purchasing and logistics aligned with company objectives.

Analyze market trends and forecast supply and demand to make informed purchasing decisions.

Oversee the end-to-end procurement process to ensure timely sourcing of goods and services at optimal terms.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.

Create and implement inventory management strategies to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing costs.

Monitor and manage inventory to ensure product availability and operational continuity.

Track and analyze purchasing and logistics costs to ensure alignment with budgetary goals.

Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Assess risks within the supply chain and develop effective mitigation strategies.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure purchasing and logistics effectiveness.

Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings and recommendations to senior and corporate leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field required.

Master's degree preferred.

Must have chemical manufacturing experience.

Proven experience as a Director of Purchasing & Logistics or in a senior-level supply chain role.

In-depth knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and logistics principles and best practices.

Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to build consensus across functions.

Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.

Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all organizational levels.
