Welder Operator

Spherion Canonsburg is working with a client in Donora who is looking for a Welder to assist with delivery high-quality products to their customers.

As a Welder, you will weld, cut and braze metal pieces and products by using flame cutting, AST machines and hand welding equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload anilox rollers into the grinding machine safely
• Plan details of work order procedures
• Gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job
• Repair and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment
• Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage
• Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
• Operate and use overhead cranes safely
• Monitor machine for proper functionality
• Responsible for keeping a clean and safe working environment

Education: High School

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 24 months

Physical:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time and stand on your feet for extended periods of time
• Frequent and continuous standing, bending, and crouching
• Must be able to stand for full shift

Skills:

• Understanding of welding machines/tools including design, uses, maintenance and repair
• Understanding of metallurgy (properties of metals, their production and purification)
• Ability to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead
• Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production according to the specifications on blueprints
• Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
• Ability to review and understand mechanical blueprints.
