Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an EXPERIENCED Welder, Sheet Metal Mechanic, or Machinist to join their team. As a skilled professional, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting various projects in sheet metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Also hiring CNC Laser Setup Operators, CNC Press Brake Setup Operators, CNC Machine Operators, and CNC Programmers for sheet metal fabrication!

Location: Newport News, VA

Pay Range: $17 and up

What's the Job?

• Set up and operate CNC Turret Punch Press, ensuring precision and quality in all outputs.
• Load raw materials onto the punch press material loader and remove parts from cut sheet metal.
• Utilize blueprint and precision measuring tools such as calipers to check the accuracy of work.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and cleaning of the punch press and work areas.
• Collaborate with maintenance and repair technicians to diagnose equipment problems as needed.

What's Needed?

• Experience in a sheet metal job shop or contract manufacturer is required.
• Ability to work from blueprints, rough sketches, and customer samples.
• Proficiency in turret punch press tooling, including selection, change, and maintenance.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with engineering teams.
