The Position

Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

The Nevada Department of Transportation is recruiting to fill the Electrician I position on the Signs and Lighting crew in Reno/Sparks, Nevada. Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and install or remove wiring, circuit breakers, and lighting, in accordance with code requirements; study blueprints and schematics, calculate electrical load; design new circuits based on the load; gain access to components and systems; perform installation; update blueprints; inspect electrical systems of structures for conformance with specifications and code requirements.
