Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Interior Construction Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial interior construction and tenant improvement projects. The ideal candidate will bring 2-3+ years of construction project management experience, a strong understanding of various construction trades, and exceptional communication and organizational skills. This is a full-time opportunity offering growth potential in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all phases of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Collaborate with leasing agents to develop accurate, cost-effective project budgets.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to tenants and maintain close coordination with internal departments including leasing, design, development, and property management.
- Maintain and regularly update historical cost data to support accurate and timely in-house estimating.
- Create, manage, and update detailed project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Handle all aspects of permit processing, from application to final approval.
- Liaise with local utility providers to secure timely service connections.
- Solicit, review, and evaluate bids and scopes of work across all trades.
- Provide on-site field supervision when necessary to ensure quality and progress.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and revisions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Review, authorize, and track project invoices and change orders.
- Negotiate and secure approval for out-of-scope work and ensure appropriate compensation is received for all changes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Construction Management or Engineering degree strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in construction project management, with tenant improvement project experience a strong plus.
