We are currently looking for a Vice President, Construction Loan Officer to join our Construction Lending team.
Job Summary
This role is a business development position responsible for identifying, soliciting, developing, servicing and managing a portfolio of construction and land development loans to residential homebuilders and developers.
What you can expect to focus on
- Solicit, negotiate, and originate construction and land development loans through new and existing bank relationships.
- Analyze and evaluate applications for construction and land development loans, including but not limited to assessing the credit worthiness of the applicant through review of financial statements of the prospective client.
- Foster and acquire new relationships with qualified borrowers through business development efforts.
- Manage a portfolio of existing construction loans to maximize opportunities for repeat and referral business.
- Manage the loan process from initial client contact through closing by effectively communicating with both internal and external customers and third-party relationships.
- Work closely with Credit and Loan Operations team for credit proposals and underwriting.
- Consistently apply superior decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures.
- Promote and cross-sell other Bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.

- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate accounting, marketing, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years' commercial construction lending experience

- Ability to critically review and evaluate borrower, credit, property, and market conditions
- Strong business development skills
- Strong financial analysis acumen
- Ability to understand complex transactions, multiple property types and markets and varying loan structures and their impact on security of collateral
- Effective business communication skills (both oral and written)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills - must be detail-oriented and thorough
- Strong interpersonal communication skills: Ability to effectively interact with individuals in all areas of the bank including Executive Leaders
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high production environment
Work Environment
This position will be a hybrid-based schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work. Currently we work in-office 3-4 days per week.
